Today was born famous progressive poet Gajanan Madhav 'Muktibodha'

Gajanan Madhav 'Muktibodh' was born on November 13, 1917 in Shiyopur (Shivpuri) District, Murraya, Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh). Your father's name was Madhavrao and mother's name was Parvati Bai. The father retired from inspector in Ujjain by staying in police station. When retired,because of faithful thoughts about worship, fearless, judicial, and severe bribery, was empty handed. Muktibodh's primary education was in Ujjain. After passing Bachelor in 1938, you became a teacher at Modern School in Ujjain. You have done teaching work in many places and you will also get financial crisis. In 1954, he was appointed as Professor in the Digvijay College of Rajnand village after doing M.A.

Muktibodh's marriage was against the wishes of the parents, but his ideological compatibility with the wife could not be attained. The wife had more interest in happiness and comfortable life rather than the poet-personality of Muktibodh. In the absence of lack of love, the rest of the life of liberation passed in conflict and misery.

Muktibodh was very studious.  The financial crisis has never been able to hinder their learning. Rajnand village was not only his teaching area, but also study area. In spite of being here, he conducted intensive study of esoteric novels, scientific novels, history and science related literature of various countries, along with English, French and Russian novels. As a result of this study, his final work, 'India's history and culture' was published in 1962. As soon as it was published, the then Madhya Pradesh government was alerted by him and hurt him within and caused such a serious injury to his heart that accidentally on 17 February 1964 the paralysis had captured them.

While fighting lifetime and fighting diseases, Mukti Bodha died in New Delhi on 11th September, 1964 leaving a treasure of his nice compositions.

Mukti Bodha stayed at his residence till his death, which has now been made a Mukti Bodha Memorial. Their oil paintings are also located in Mukti Bodha Memorial. From here the view of the Rani Sagar is seen.
