UN made special envoy to actress Diya Mirza

United Nations (UN) has made Indian actress Dia Mirza a special envoy to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG). United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Gutteras has selected 17 other celebrities of the world, including Diya Mirza and Alibaba chief Jack Ma, as special task for the international organization.

Actress Dia Mirza is already associated with the UN as a goodwill ambassador of the United Nations Environment Program. She is happy for the new responsibility. She tweeted that it was a matter of great pride for me.

Sustainable Development Target (SDG):

  • The UN had set up sustainable development goals in 2015 concerning these issues. The UN has set a goal to complete these issues by 2030.
  • These celebrities will make people aware about the causes of sustainable development of the United Nations around the world.
  • It involves sending people's message to the United Nations about climate change, international peace, poverty and inequality.
  • The message of the Paris Convention on climate change has also been entrusted to the responsibility of propagating these special messengers.
