Ranvir Singh: first army officer to conquer highest mountains summits of seven continents

Ranvir Singh became first army officer to conquer highest mountains summits of seven continents. The highest mountains peaks of the seven continents of the world proved Dwarf before the courage of Colonel Ranvir Singh Jamval, the son of Jammu and Kashmir. On January 4, 2019 he successfully completed the climb of Mount Vinson Massif in Antarctica. Along with this, Colonel Ranvir Singh Jamwal has become the first military officer of the country, who has stepped on the hardest and the highest peak of seven continents. Colonel Ranvir Singh Jamwal, originally from Bhadauri village of Samba district, had left on December 25. After completing this summit on Thursday morning he landed in Punta Arenas of Antarctica. He has expressed gratitude on the blessings and cooperation of friends and countrymen to complete this summit.

Prior to this, Ranvir Jamwal has completed Asia and the world's highest peak Mount Everest, Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, Mount Carstenesz Pyramid in Australia, Mount Elbrus in Europe, Mount Aconcagua in South America and Mount Denali in North America have completed climbing. . They have the distinction of successfully climbing Mount Everest three times. More than 30 summits have been made in six continents. He is the only person in India who participated in the Everest Summit, and in his dynamic leadership, a total of 51 climbers climbed Everest.

  • Colonel Ranvir Singh is an army officer, born on 26 December 1975, in the Badhori in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • He joined the Dogra Regiment (15 Dogra). After hard and strict disciplinary training from Indian Military Academy of Dehradun, Jamwal commissioned to Jat 11 during June of 2002.
  • He undergone course of mountaineering from High Altitude Warfare School, after joining 11 Jat.
  • He has an achievement of climbing Mount Everest for three times.
  • He is honored with Highest Adventure Award of India which is equivalent to Arjuna Award is called Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award.
  • Ranvir Singh has been awarded IMF Gold Medal in 2017, for the Best Mountaineer of India by Indian Mountaineering Foundation(IMF).
  • Jamwal has also received ‘Sher-e-Kashmir’, highest honor of Jammu and Kashmir for Best sportsperson.
  • Colonel Jamwal has won ‘Vishisht Sewa Medal” twice  from Indian Army, alongwith seven awards he received from army.
  • In 2015, Ranvir was a the leader of rescue team who saved lives of mountaineers fromthe Earthquake near the Everest base camp.
