India to lauch Chandrayaan 2 today

Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) announced on July 18, 2019 that the Chandrayaan-2 will be launched on July 22 from Sriharikota. ISRO tweeted that the launch of Chandrayaan-2 was due on July 15, which was postponed due to technical flaws.

ISRO has repaired all technical flaws within a week. An official notification has been issued by ISRO, which says that Chandrayaan-2 will be launched on July 22, 2019 at 2:43 pm.


  • Chandrayaan-2 will be launched from Satish Dhawan Center, Sriharikota, from India's most powerful GSLV Mk-3 rocket.
  • The journey of Chandrayaan-2 will go on for four days ahead.
  • Chandrayaan-2 was supposed to reach the moon on September 06.
  • Due to postpone of launch,  it will reach the South Pole of the Moon on September 10 or September 11.
  • Chandrayaan-1 (August 29, 2009) has been working for 312 days.
  • This is nearly three times more than the Chandrayaan-1 mission.

  • Chandrayaan-2 will weigh 3,877 kg.
  • ISRO launched the first successful Moon Mission, Chandrayaan-1, which made 3,400 rotations of the Moon.


  • India's Chandrayaan-2 mission had to stop due to leak in the helium bottle of cryogenic engine of GSLV-MK-3, on July 15.
  • It works to keep cool the cryogenic engine filled with liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen.
  • The mission had to be stopped due to the helium leakage.
  • Helium's pressure level was not becoming in the bottle.
  • It had to stop just 56 minutes before the launch of the vehicle.
  • The technical flaw was confirmed by ISRO officially in GSLV-MK-3.
