Hindi includes as the third official Court language in Abu Dhabi

Hindi is the third official language in addition to English and Arabic for use in the court of Abu Dhabi, UAE. This step has been taken to increase access to justice.

Abu Dhabi Justice Department (ADJD) said on 9th February 2019 that it has expanded the medium of language for statements of claims before the courts by including Hindi with Arabic and English.

  • This step will help Hindi speakers learn about the process of trial, their rights and duties.

Facts relating to statistics:

  • According to government figures, about two-thirds of the UAE's population is overseas migrant people.
  • The number of Indian people in the United Arab Emirates is 2.6 million, which is 30 percent of the total population of the country and it is the largest migrant community in the country.
  • Hindi speakers are also provided the facility of registration through the official website of Abu Dhabi Judicial Department.
  • Yousef Saeed al-Abri, Under Secretary of ADJD, said that the motive for implementing multi language for claim sheets, complaints and requests is to promote judicial services on the lines of Plan 2021 and to increase transparency in the process of prosecution.
  • The first phase of the bilingual legal system was launched in November 2018, under which civilian and commercial cases, if the plaintiff is an overseas, then the plaintiff's case documents have to be translated into English.

 There are many countries in the world, where Hindi is given great honor:

  • In Fiji, four languages ??are used for official functioning, including the name of Hindi. Let us know that the number of Indians in Fiji is more than 3 lakh and this figure is 33 percent of the total population of the country.
  • Apart from India, Hindi is spoken in Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Trinidad and Tobago, Singapore, South Africa and Mauritius. However, this language is not used for official functioning here.
  • Apart from India, Hindi is taught in more than 600 universities and colleges of 40 countries of the world including the US, Russia and Japan.

Every year, 'Hindi Day' is celebrated worldwide on September 14. Hindi is a language which not only likes to know it but also foreigners are very much attached to this language. The Hindi language is considered as a link which connects India with any country easily. It is worth mentioning that on 14th September, 1949, Hindi was given the status of official language, from that time onwards every year, this day is celebrated as 'Hindi Day'.
