E-way bill system implemented in five states
The e-way bill system created for the transportation of mutual goods among the States was started in five states from April 15, 2018. These states include Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh.
According to the finance ministry, this will facilitate trade and industry in these states and help in the same e-way bill system across the country. Ministry has asked the business and industries and transporter to register e-bill on the bill portal. As per the information released by the Ministry, more than 63 lakh e-bill has been issued so far under e-way bill system.
The e-bill is actually a type of electronic bill which will be updated on the GST network. This online bill is called e-bill. In the old tax regime, there has been a bill on paper for goods transport, which was called a road permit but now the online bill will be made under GST and it will be known as e-bill.
Key facts related to e-bill
The government has implemented electronic he or e-bill system from April 1 for the commodity movement of more than Rs. 50,000 in one state from another state to another.
It will be valid for 1 to 15 days. It will be decided on the basis of the distance of the validity item to be taken.
One day e-bill will be made for a distance of 100 km, whereas 3 days for 100 to 300 kilometers, 10 days for 300 to 500 kilometers, and 15 days for a distance of more than 1,000 kilometers E-Way Bill will be created.
If the goods are being sent within a radius of 10 kilometers within a single state, then there will be no need to make e-bills for them.
It will be necessary to complete the transport of goods within the validity period of the e-way bill. If, for some reason, it does not happen, then it will have to be e-made again.
